Moulding Capabilities

BR Defence has 29 high pressure rubber manufacturing presses with working platen sizes ranging from 0.3 x 0.3 metre to 0.9 x 1.0 metre. This provides BR Defence with great flexibility with product size and weight, as well varied production quantities of each component. The factory has a number of development presses for very low quantities and prototyping.

Types of Rubber Mouldings

Rubber and Silicone O-Rings and O-Section Seals

Using precision rubber blanking, vacuum technology during manufacture and cyrogentic freeze trimming, BR Defence is able to manufacture near flashless custom O – Ring and O section seals to your specifications manufactured from a wide range of materials. We currently manufacture O rings down to 0.5 mm in cross section with our largest cross section to date for 4.5cm with a 30cm OD. Please feel free to contact us.

Square Section seals and Square Section Rings

BR Defence has many methods to manufacture square section seals and square section rings. These seals can be moulded using compression or injection moulding, or they can be cropped using "Die-Cut Gasket" cutting technology (see gasket manufacture for more details).

Rubber Bellows, Boots and Gaiters

Rubber Bellows, Boots and Gaiters can all be manufactured in a wide range of materials and Sizes. We do ask that designs do take into account the material, as some materials are too ridge to be moulded into bellows. We are very happy to look at your design as suggest improvements that will keep the manufacturing cost down and provide you with a functional rubber product.

Rubber to Metal Bondings and Rubber Coating

BR Defence has many years experience in manufacturing rubber to metal bondings for all applications. We have the technology and experience to bond many different rubbers and silicone rubbers to a wide range of metals including: Copper, Steel, Stainless steel, Aluminium, Brass and Iron. Our in house surface preparation and cleaning faculties put us in a very good position to develop and manufacture your rubber to metal bondings. Examples of Moulded rubber to metal bondings are:

Moulded Rubber Straps

BR Defence manufacture a wide range of rubber straps for many customers to be used in wide range of strap applications. If you have a custom rubber strap enquiry please feel free to contact us.

We also have a range of Standard Moulded Rubber Straps.

The standard rubber strap range comes in Natural Rubber 60 hard, with a 3 cm wide x 1 cm deep wire loop at either end. All Rubber Straps are 2.5 cm in width and 0.3 cm in section. The lengths can be seen below:

• 30 cm Rubber Strap (12-Inch Strap)
• 25.5 cm Rubber Strap (10-Inch Strap)
• 23 cm Rubber Strap (9-Inch Strap)
• 20 cm Rubber Strap (8-Inch Strap)
• 15 cm Rubber Strap (6-Inch Strap)
• Metal loops are moulded in to the rubber strap during the moulding process for maximum strength.

Rubber Grommets and Rubber Bumps Stops

BR Defence Manufacture many rubber 'Grommets' and rubber 'Bump-stops' in a wide range of rubbers and silicones for a wide range of applications. We are able to work with you to develop the right material for your needs, we can even make the same shape grommet or bump stop but in different rubber harnesses using different coloured rubbers for colour coding. This is very popular with race teams who require similar parts but with different vibration or stiffness set-ups.
